WASHINGTON, Nov 9 (PRIME) -- The U.S. has added three Crimea-based resorts, Southern Project company of Yuri Kovalchuk’s Bank Rossiya, power company KrymTETs, Infrastructure Projects Management Company, and a former official of the Security Service of Ukraine, a Crimean citizen, Andrei Sushko, to the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list, as seen by PRIME on the website of the Department of the Treasury late on Thursday.
The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the Department also imposed sanctions against two citizens of the self-proclaimed Donetsk region.
Russia’s Energy Ministry said in a statement that new restrictions will not impact Crimea’s power supply and KrymTETs’s operation in Russia.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the sanctions will not alter Russia’s political course and that Washington’s moves are meaningless.
If Moscow decides to reiterate fresh restrictions, this will be done “on the strength of all the circumstances,” he also said.
Director of the Federation Council’s international committee Konstantin Kosachyov said that Russia will give a mirror respond to a new round of sanctions against the Crimea in political terms and will choose selective counter steps economically.
Member of the committee Oleg Morozov said that such actions of the U.S. will inevitably result in shrinking economic relations between the countries.
